Activities |
Take
a voyage on Sykes Creek with Dolphin Girl Cruises and
Eco-Tours. A 20 person pontoon boat will
operate continuously from 11 AM until 4 PM. When
the previous group unloads and the next group boards,
the boat will depart for a 25 minute cruise.
The cost is $2 per adult and $1 per child (under 16
years). |
Join
a group of paddlers for a 30 minute trip around an island in
Sykes Creek. Demonstration kayaks and assistance
will be provided by Indian River Outfitters.
Florida Master Naturalists will accompany each tour to
serve as interpretive guides. Visit

A.M. Weaving
Demonstration. Viola Pace
Knudsen and Nancy Bindig, artists and teachers, will
demonstrate weaving techniques. Audience members are
invited to work on team projects to produce baskets for
the raffle. Viola and Nancy will
complete the baskets which will be raffled to benefit
the Wildlife Care Center. |

Started with Geocaching. Dale Swinehart
of the Space Coast Geocaching
Association.
Do you like outdoor activities, going to the park,
hiking in the woods or canoeing/kayaking? Then this
could be just what you have been looking for - a family
friendly activity that everyone can enjoy. Whether you
are a kid, adult or retired this can be enjoyed by all.
It is a high tech treasure hunt that you can do all
over the world. People everywhere are joining in and
finding places they never knew anything about.

Photographing Birds
of the Indian River Lagoon Region.
Tom Dunkerton, a member of Nikon's Prostaff Birding
Team, will share his knowledge and passion of nature
photography. Tom has developed an exception
knowledge of the birds that visit the Indian River
Lagoon area. He leverages his avian knowledge with
excellent photographic skills to capture prize-winning
images. |
2:30 P.M. Growing Your Own Plants from Seed.
Kari Ruder of Naturewise
(www.naturewiseplants.com)
will share her tips and tricks for successfully growing
native and edible plant seeds. Come see what a good seed
starting media looks like, learn what seeds need to
germinate, learn how to correctly plant seeds, learn how
to care for seedlings, and see what pots or containers
work best. Free seeds packets will be available
from the Florida Wildflower Foundation.
